Selection Round 2

I'm sure everyone has heard by now that our original choice for vacation has refused to rent to us. That's OK! We don't need their stinking house anyway!

So, we begin anew. I've spent the last 2 days researching locations and finding agencies that will rent to us. The following properties have met most or all of our criteria. All are in the Outer Banks, $2000 or under, and available the week of 5/26-6/2. Links to the properties follow and I will be emailing each of you a comparison chart to help in the decision. Please take a moment and weigh in on your favorites, if you have them. If you don't have an opinion (Adam) then just stay tuned to this space for updates.

I'd like to get a general consensus on one or two favorites by Friday. Hope you all like the new selections!

1. Reminiscent
2. The Rookery
3. Dream Weaver
4. Pebble Beach
5. A Dream Deferred
6. Coconuts
7. Pelican Watch
8. White Marlin
(I can't get this last link to stick to the listing page. It will take you back to the search function. Just enter property #745)

Sorry but the fact that AG and Matthew agree on places is craking me up.

...I just voted for bathrooms with the nicest floors out of respect for AG.

At second glance, the house is sweet, but it looks like there's not much sun by the pool at the White Marlin. If it is behind the house the house is facing east, where the sun rises over the ocean, so it may just be evening sun. Just something to note.

Thanks again...

God forbid you don't look like a Kenny Roger's Roaster at the end of the week, Tina ;-)

good point though...many of the beachfront/near beach properties put the pool on the ocean side so watch for that!

So, using this method of ranking....#1 vote - 3 points #2 vote - 2 points #3 vote - 1 point #4 or 5 vote (0 points, but thanks)

The standings are :
1) White Marlin 11 ponits (one 4th place vote)
2) Rookery - 9 points
3) Dream D - 6 points
4) Pebble Beach 5 points (and a 4th/5th place vote)
5)Remini - 3 points
6) Pelican- 2 points
7) Coconuts (one 4th/5th place vote)

Not sure what this all means, but thought I would take a look at the data, being a scientist and all.

as long as you used the scientific method, Dutch, I think we're all good.

if you guys want me to run a hypothesis test, and see how much variation is between the data, just let me know. ;)

Doesn't having a slide at the pool add like 10 points automatically?

OK, I just got the OK from Kitty Hawk Rentals. We are approved to rent all of the houses now! So, if anyone needs to change up their picks before the final vote, feel free.
As far as the pool at the White Marlin, if you look at the floor plans for the house you can see that the pool is in back of the house. Making it the west side of the house. So, yeah, it probably will be in the shadow of the house until noonish. Do with that what you will.
I will post my votes sometime today!
